When it comes to snacking, there’s no doubt that choosing whole foods – foods which have changed little between the farmer and you and are essentially intact – is the best way to ensure maximum nutrition. Nutrients like unsaturated fats, fibre, vitamins and minerals are abundant in foods like nuts and seeds and combined with pops of sweetness from dried fruits or chocolate chips, you’ve got an enjoyable and healthy snack that you can nibble away on.

Trail mix is perfect for those peckish afternoon when all you’re craving is sugar. This snack will give you the sweetness you so desire combined with some healthy fats and fibre to help you feel satisfied and content, not eating all afternoon in a frenzied munch-a-thon!

We would highly recommend weighing out your portions. That way you’ll consume an appropriate amount and have a good awareness of what a good serve looks like. Especially if you’d like to lose some weight. Portion control is important.
