Ingredients
  

  • 250 ml juice, orange freshly squeezed
  • 180 ml oil, sunflower or rice bran
  • 150 g sugar, raw
  • ½ tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ tsp cinnamon ground
  • 2 cup flour, wholemeal, self-raising

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, combine orange juice, oil, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon using a wooden spoon.
  • Add in flour to make a soft dough that doesn't stick to your hands. Start by mixing with the spoon; you will need to use your hands eventually. The amount of flour can vary and you may need more than the two cups, so just add and mix, add and mix until you have a dough that isn’t sticky. 
  • Roll handfuls of dough into a snake and then into desired shapes (the simplest is to cut them into straight logs at this stage, but you can also make circles, twists, twisted circles, swirls and pretzels – let your imagination lead the way!) 
  • Bake on a lined baking tray at 180°C for 20-25mins.  
  • Best stored in an airtight container at room temperature. They will keep for months!
